"After about five to six hours of sailing we arrived in Phnom Penh. During the boat trip you see the landscape, the houses, the hats and the people changing. The first impression of the city is clean and well cared for; also colonial, but the official buildings, such as the National Museum, have a very different architectural style than in Vietnam. With a smaller group we visit the museum and the Royal Palace with the Silver Pagoda. Magnificent! Many details and beautiful ceiling paintings. The part where the king lives is closed, but those are only a few buildings. We can really walk around extensively through the generously laid out gardens and visit the various pavilions."
